Esther Oyedele
Esther Oyedele is a first-generation scholar who got her Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. She completed her Master’s degree in Geology from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, USA. She is currently studying for a Doctoral degree in Geosciences at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (popularly known as Virginia Tech), Virginia, USA. She is a research aficionado with interest in hydrogeodesy and remote sensing. She has authored and co-authored five research publications in reputable international peer-reviewed journals and authored five international conference abstracts.
She has been an i-Scholar since 2019, when she became a recipient of the maiden edition of the initiative’s financial and mentorship support for graduate studies abroad. Since then, she has been committed to giving back to the initiative through service and mentoring of subsequent i-Scholars. Some of her mentees have excelled in the graduate tests of GRE and TOEFL, while some have successfully gotten funded admission offers in the USA and UK universities.
Esther loves and enjoys traveling, mentoring, volunteering and networking. She is currently serving with the iSI Secretariat as the Programs Manager.
